Status:
We have two adult fish which only seldom show pair bonding, but also don't fight. Tank size might be the issue for this rather big specie.

One adult pair is just forming and the first spawn is close. The couple already shows substrate cleaning. With this couple there is a small third fish in the tank which will be removed soon.

We have a potential young pair which is just forming. Additional there are two juveniles as back up which fight a lot and will probably never be a pair.

As far as we know we have the only spawning pair outside of Australia and are therefore very proud of this achievement. Our pair is spawning since November 2008 every 14 days and we are trying to raise the first fry since January 2009.

We have a breeding couple which spawns every 8-10 days but normally don't raise them. Mostly as the offspring off this couple has a very high rate of miss barred fish.  Up to now it is unclear if this is due to the genetics of this pair or due to water quality / nutrition during raising the fry.
